Principal's Message
Dear Kenwood Families, Students, and Community,
Welcome to an exciting new chapter at Kenwood K–8 Center, a school that continues to thrive through dedication, unity, and excellence. As we open the doors to the 2026–2027 school year, we build upon the foundation of last year’s theme, “Limited Edition: One of a Kind,” and proudly unite under a powerful new vision: “98 Strong.”
Last year reminded us that every student, educator, and moment at Kenwood is unique and unrepeatable. This year, we carry that one-of-a-kind spirit forward as we honor nearly a century of tradition, growth, and achievement. “98 Strong” reflects 98 years of excellence, community, and pride. It connects the generations of students, families, and staff who built our legacy with the incredible, unique individuals who make up our school today.
Looking back on the 2025–2026 school year, that legacy was on full display. Driven by our dedicated community, we achieved:
-
Earned another “A” rating, powered by high-yield instructional strategies and notable gains in academic student performance
-
Achieved a significant increase in student attendance, reflecting our commitment to daily engagement and belonging
-
Received multiple accolades and recognitions for our outstanding academic progress and school culture
-
Expanded enrichment and leadership opportunities that empowered our students to shine beyond the classroom
-
Strengthened the vital partnership between our school and our families
These accomplishments prove that when one-of-a-kind individuals come together, extraordinary things happen.
Looking ahead, we are inspired to write the next chapter of Kenwood’s story. Whether your child is starting their journey in pre-kindergarten or preparing to transition to high school, this year is their moment to grow, lead, and add their unique mark to our 98-year history.
Let’s step into the 2026–2027 school year with purpose, pride, and positivity. Together, honoring where we’ve been and looking toward where we’re going, we are 98 Strong.
With Kenwood Pride,
Yolanda Oliu
